Emsey Hospital Won the Award for Successful Health Tourism Brand of the Year!
At the Economy’s Best Summit Awards, traditionally organized by Ekonomize, the Award for Successful Health Tourism Brand of the Year was received on behalf of Emsey Hospital by Mikail Sürer! The ceremony, where distinguished names from the worlds of business, economy, politics, society, and media were awarded, made the headlines.
Speaking on behalf of Emsey Hospital, Mikail Sürer evaluated our country’s potential, goals, and current situation in health tourism. Receiving the Award for Successful Health Tourism Brand of the Year, Mikail Sürer said:
“As Emsey Hospital, we are a strong hospital of a strong country. We draw our strength from our country and our nation. As the main theme of our ceremony suggests, today I would like to briefly talk to you about our health tourism activities. Since 2002, our country has undergone a revolution in healthcare. First of all, as a healthcare professional, I can easily say that today all health innovations are closely followed and directly implemented by both public and private hospitals in our country. Therefore, I would like to state that there is no difference between a treatment received in the USA and a treatment received in our country today.”
Our Target in Health Tourism is 20 Billion Dollars!
Commenting on current health tourism data, Mikail Sürer said: “In health tourism, our country has a good position. According to 2018 data, the amount of health tourism circulating in the world is about 500 billion dollars. The projected figure for 2023 is 1 trillion dollars. Our country’s 2023 target, however, is 20 billion dollars. We have made a revolution in healthcare, but in health tourism, we are far behind our targets. If we evaluate our country not only in health but also in tourism, today Turkey, with Istanbul, the east, the southeast, is the cradle of all religions, the common history of civilizations. And at the same time, it ranks among the top in the world in thermal tourism. Surrounded by seas on three sides, we are also a country with holiday tourism. Today, Turkey is one of the rare countries that can serve health tourism, religious tourism, holiday, and thermal tourism at the same time. It is our duty to announce these. As Emsey Hospital, we set out with this intention, and now we are receiving patients from 92 countries. We are proud of this. I thank you all very much.”
