Especially heart valve diseases, coronary artery diseases, congenital heart diseases, hypertrophic cardiomyopathies, heart failure and heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias), peripheral artery diseases (carotid artery, renal artery, leg and foot arteries) are monitored with the most advanced techniques and technology through a multidisciplinary approach. What is Coronary Angiography?

Coronary angiography is a procedure that determines narrowing or blockage that may be present in the arteries feeding the heart, ensuring that treatment is guided appropriately.

What is the Interventional Treatment of Leg and Foot Arteries?

Due to high blood pressure, smoking, cholesterol, diabetes, sedentary lifestyle, or advanced age, narrowing or blockage of the arteries located in the leg region may occur. The blocked or narrowed peripheral arteries are opened using balloon, drug-coated balloon, stent, atherectomy (plaque shaving), ultrasonic sound waves, clot aspiration devices, and similar tools.

Why is Pacemaker Implantation Needed?

If the heart beats too slowly or irregularly, in patients with rhythm disorders, heart failure, and some serious heart muscle diseases, a pacemaker is needed to provide electrical stimulation to keep the heart beating.

What is Rhythm and Blood Pressure Holter?

A rhythm Holter helps diagnose the presence of palpitations, rhythm disorders, and the risk of fatal rhythm disorder after a heart attack. A blood pressure Holter is a device used to measure and record blood pressure at regular intervals for 24, 48, or 72 hours.

What is Echocardiography?

By applying a transducer to different parts of the chest wall, echocardiography examines the internal structure and functions of the heart walls and valves in different positions through sound waves (ultrasound).

What is an Exercise Test?

This procedure is used to diagnose heart and vascular diseases, monitor treatment, and evaluate how the heart and blood vessels respond to physical effort.

What is the Exercise Thallium Test?

It is an imaging method that measures the amount of blood flow to the heart muscle, allowing the detection of coronary artery disease (CAD).

A heart attack (myocardial infarction), which can lead to life-threatening consequences, is a serious condition that occurs when the blood vessels supplying the heart muscle become blocked. In this emergency, the patient must be taken to the angiography laboratory as soon as possible for coronary angiography, and if necessary, balloon angioplasty and/or stent placement procedures to open the vessel.

The electrophysiology laboratory is used in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. Problems identified here are treated with appropriate options such as pacemaker implantation or ablation. Permanent pacemaker implantation is preferred when the heart rate slows down to a life-threatening level. Ablation treatment eliminates the problematic area in the heart’s electrical system through an angiographic procedure.

Balloon – Stent – Atherectomy Treatment of Blocked Leg or Foot Arteries (Plaque Shaving Procedure)

Balloon–stent procedures for the leg, below-the-knee, and foot arteries are applied via angiography to treat conditions caused by narrowing or blockage of the arteries in suitable patients, by placing an expandable tube called a stent inside the artery or performing ballooning. Especially in diabetic patients with non-healing foot wounds, this procedure can prevent amputation. Patients without complications may be discharged the next day after planning treatment.

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) Procedure

This is the replacement of a critically narrowed aortic valve with the help of a catheter. It is a treatment method that can be performed as an alternative to surgery in elderly patients with high surgical risk.

Radial Angiography and Stenting

When performed in suitable patients, radial angiography provides greater patient comfort compared to femoral angiography (groin angiography) due to fewer complications at the entry site, shorter hospital stays, and earlier mobilization (no need for a sandbag).

Coronary Balloon Angioplasty and Stent Procedure

This procedure treats the narrowing or blockage of the arteries feeding the heart (coronary arteries) by placing an expandable tube called a stent into the artery lumen and, if necessary, performing balloon treatment before and after the procedure via angiography. Recently, drug-eluting stents are used in almost all procedures. A drug-eluting stent is coated with a slowly released medication to prevent blood clot formation. Patients without complications may be discharged the next day after planning treatment.

Carotid Artery Stenting

Carotid artery stenting is an angiographic procedure performed in suitable patients to treat narrowing of the carotid artery by placing an expandable tube called a stent inside the artery lumen. Opening the narrowing in the carotid artery reduces the risk of stroke. Patients without complications may be discharged the next day after planning treatment.

Renal Artery Stenting

Renal artery stenting is a procedure performed via angiography to treat narrowing of the renal artery by placing an expandable tube called a stent inside the artery lumen in suitable patients. Opening the renal artery is important for kidney preservation and in patients with uncontrolled hypertension. Patients without complications may be discharged the next day after planning treatment.

Intravascular Imaging Methods

Intravascular ultrasonography (IVUS) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) are imaging methods used to examine the inside of the vessels using ultrasound waves or near-infrared light in cases where conventional angiography (2D imaging) is insufficient, before and after stent procedures, and in certain special cases.

Electrophysiological Study (Method for Diagnosing Rhythm Disorders), Pacemaker, Ablation (Method for Treating Rhythm Disorders), ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator), CRT (Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy) Treatments

The electrophysiology laboratory is used in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. Problems identified here are treated with appropriate options such as pacemaker implantation or ablation. Permanent pacemaker implantation is preferred when the heart rate slows down to a life-threatening level. Ablation treatment eliminates the problematic area in the heart’s electrical system through an angiographic procedure. Implantation of an ICD (defibrillator) in suitable patients with significantly reduced heart function can be life-saving, and CRT (cardiac resynchronization therapy) can reduce symptoms of heart failure in suitable patients.

Virtual Angiography

Virtual angiography is a non-invasive imaging method performed with computed tomography to evaluate possible narrowing or blockages in the heart vessels in suitable patients. During the procedure, high-resolution images are obtained through short breath-holding, allowing for a detailed examination of the coronary vessel structure.

It can contribute to the diagnostic process in cases where there is a suspicion of coronary artery disease, the presence of risk factors, or a need for cardiological evaluation. The findings are assessed by a specialist physician, and if deemed necessary, further testing or follow-up planning may be carried out.
